Please welcome kick-ass Southern Rock band KICKHUNTER from Hamburg/Germany to the Metalapolis family. The band was founded back in the year 2000 by guitarist Stefan Aurel and Drummer Karsten Kreppert and soon became one of the leading Southern Rock bands in Germany! After a nine years hiatus they will return in 2023 with their fifth album ‘Now Or Never’. The 10-track album features a guest performance of KICKHUNTER founding member and HELLOWEEN bassist Markus Großkopf and is produced by Stefan Aurel and Gerd Lehmkuhl and mixed and mastered by Eike Freese and Dennis Ward.

DeVicious is excited and proud to announce their return to METALAPOLIS RECORDS. Last Thursday DeVicious has signed a multi-record deal for the next three albums with Metalapolis Records where the band has already released the albums Reflections & Phase Three. After releasing 4 albums since 2018 and having to replace 2 singers, DeVicious finally found their permanent frontman with BAOL BARDOT BULSARA, the current singer of TNT. With him they entered the studio on July 1st and have completed production on their new long player yesterday. After negotiating with several national and international labels, DeVicious and Metalapolis decided to continue to where they left off in 2020 in order to further establish both brands on the international Market.

Metalapolis Records is more than happy to welcome CAVE to their roster. CAVE stands for melodic Hard Rock with slightly progressive influences. The name came up from guitarist Chris Lorey (IVANHOE, SCENES), whose basement studio was often dubbed a cave. Chris had some sprawling sessions with various musician friends there. At some point Roberto Palacios (CHINCHILLA, MY DARKEST HATE, GOBLINS BLADE) joined forces and after a few magic moments it was clear, these songs must be recorded and published properly! For this none other than Steffen Theurer, e.g. known for his work with SYMPHORCE and SOULDRINKER, could be convinced to record the drums. Now the question was, who the right singer would be. After a short time of consideration world-famous powerhouse singer Ronny Munroe (ex-TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, ex-METAL CHURCH, ex-VICIOUS RUMORS, ex-LILIAN AXE) was contacted. And the first shot was immediately a hit, Ronny joined CAVE immediately after receiving the first demos. The only thing missing now was a permanent drummer. Here, Chris Schwinn (ex-CHINCHILLA) could be acquired directly. CAVE therefore offers the average over 30 years of experience of the musicians and the debut album already sounds like a best of album. Dear friends, fans and companions!
Let me tell you a story – MY story – MY 40 METAL YEARS: You are all part of this story because without you there would be no story at all. In 1982 the NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL with bands like JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN and SAXON changed my musical world completely and from that moment on I had only one goal – playing this kind of music myself. The same year 1982 I founded MAD MAX and I’m thankful and proud to celebrate the MAD MAX 40th anniversary in 2022.

But I also would love to celebrate with you all my very own 40 years in the world of heavy metal music by recording brand new songs and songs from my history. Please let me introduce you to my fantastic songwriting partner Peter Lenzschau. He’s not only a fabulous songwriter but also one of Germany’s best heavy metal singers around. Together with a great band we can’t wait to hit the stage and present our songs live for you. Stay tuned for more!!!

The band has decided to keep it in the family. So please welcome Kalli Coldsmith. Kalli is the producer of „Metal Forces“ and well-known as a guitarist for MASTERS OF DISGUISE, GRIFFIN (USA), ROXXCALIBUR and ABANDONED.

Today sees the release of the third TRANCE single ‚Ballad For A Group‘ taken from the upcoming album ‘Metal Forces, which will be released August 6th. The story behind the song is, that the song was written by Trance founding member Hans-Peter Jantzer in 1977 and originally recorded at their rehearsal room in 1978. When the band searched for old material as a bonus this jewel was found on an old and dusty cassette tape in a box. Even before the NWOBHM had started, the song already contains many NWOBHM trademarks. This version was recorded with the original arrangements like it was on the tape and is a flashback to the late seventies! BIG HALLS OF OBLIVION NEWS!!!

A new Halls Of Oblivion EP will be released digitally on all platforms on February 5th, 2021. The idea to publish the EP arose at the beginning of the Corona pandemic. Three songs on the 4-track EP are made from older song material that the band has revised over the past few months. The songs are about the deepest depths of human existence and society. The title track ‘… Of Hate And Despair’ symbolizes the theme of the EP and the feeling of hopelessness. The EP was recorded in the band’s home studio and the mixing and mastering was done by bassist Markus Kristen.

In addition to the three new songs the EP contains an acoustic version of ‘Walking Dead’ and creates a direct reference to their first album Endtime Poetry, which was released in 2019. Special guests on the EP are Mindead singer Timo Fielker (vocals on ‘Walking Dead’), Jens Böhm (keyboards on ‘King Of None’, ‘…Of Hate And Despair’ and ‘Walking Dead’), Laura Welte (flute on ‘’King Of None’) and Julia Makain (violin on ‘Walking Dead’). December 4th, 2020 REBEL’s cult album STARGAZER from 1982 will be officially released on CD for the very first time! The masterpiece was remastered by Jacky Lehmann (SAXON, BIFF BYFORD, and many more). It is 1982 and the Hard’n Heavy scene in Germany is about to grow. One of them is called REBEL and it is the brainchild of a young guitarist called Tommy Clauss. John Lawton, ex-Singer of URIAH HEEP and LUCIFER‘S FRIEND, was on a promotion tour for his album „Heartbeat“ in Germany, when Tommy had the chance to meet him and to ask if he wants to produce their album. After John agreed they started to record ‚STARGAZER‘. Because the singer of the band had a few problems to sing the songs, John himself stepped in.

Later in the 80s John and Tommy teamed up again for the first album of a band called ZAR. But this is a totally different story!

I think most of you following TwentyDarkSeven the last couple months (years?) have heard the bad news already.

Selly decided to leave TwentyDarkSeven last week and will not tour with us next month. Admittedly, it was quite surprising to say at least. But we understand his reasoning of course and fully support his decision.

It only remains for me to say a big and heartfelt thank you, thanks for everything mate! We wish you nothing but the best for all your future endeavours!
