Founded in 2019 at a party in the legendary Rockfabrik in Ludwigsburg, VIOLET is set to revive
the colorful, extravagant ’80s, a decade full of great melodies, hits, and an unmistakable sound,
in the here and now. With their debut album, “Illusions”, released back in 2022, which fans and
the press voted number one among time machines back to the ’80s, the young band from the
Stuttgart region immediately played their way into the spotlight.
Their live shows quickly became must-see events for all AOR fans. And not only for them. It’s
no wonder why, as the passionate performance of singer Jamie Beckham, the virtuoso guitar
playing of guitarist, singer, and songwriter Manuel Heller, the delicate keyboard melodies of
Filip Kuzanski, and the irresistible groove of the rhythm section with Eric Hart on bass and
Maurice Probst on drums, leave no one standing still.
Two years after their debut album, which also caused a sensation in Japan and the U.S., the
highly anticipated follow-up, “Mysteria”, was released at the end of 2024. While the album was
still somewhat pop-oriented, the songs revealed a new side of the band. On “Mysteria”, there
were no limits for VIOLET. Suddenly, a delicate saxophone shines through, and unexpected,
irresistible gang shouts surprise listeners. There are more guitars, and the music takes a slight
progressive turn here and there, always in keeping with the song. Added to this is an incredible
authenticity for a time when none of the band members had even been born yet.
The album reached number 13 on the official German rock/metal charts. The single „Angelina“
made it onto the iTunes rock charts in Switzerland and Sweden. The follow-up single „Arms
Around“ repeated this feat in Switzerland. The band received other accolades as well, such as
top five places in the annual rankings. „Mysteria“ opened many doors for the band’s live
performances. They performed many acclaimed shows and shined at prestigious festivals,
including Malmö Melodic, Trveheim, and Rock ‚N‘ Loc. The band has already been confirmed
to perform at the iconic Keep It True Festival in April 2026.
It’s only fitting that VIOLET will follow up with their new EP “Silhouettes” on CD, vinyl, and
digitally at the end of February 2026. Like its two predecessors, the album was recorded,
produced, and mixed by Andreas Konstandaras and mastered by Chris Jones at Peak Studios.
With these eight songs, the band delivers three brand-new 80s anthems. “Calling For You,”
one of their hit singles that has already been released digitally but is not yet available on any
physical medium, has made it onto the album. The three live tracks were recorded at the
furious “Mysteria” release party at the traditional SCALA in Ludwigsburg in December 2024.
The demo version of “Fall In Love” is a very early version of the song “I Don’t Want To Fall In
Love” from the “Mysteria” album. So early, that it still has a completely different chorus and
beautifully illustrates how enormously some songs can change in the recording process.
If you like authentic 80s sound and count bands like STARSHIP, HEART, TOTO, or ROXETTE
