What started out as a small gift to their fans turned into something Swiss sleaze rockers BLACK DIAMONDS themselves simply couldn’t let go of. “Live In Paradise” was originally intended to be released as a strictly limited CD. But once the band heard the results of their live recordings, it quickly became clear that this experience had to be made available to all their fans. On November 20, 2026, the album will be released on CD, vinyl and digitally. And the title says it all, the album is more than just a collection of live recordings. “Live In Paradise” is a snapshot of a band that perfected its own sound on stage, capturing that special magic that happens when four musicians know exactly what their audience wants.
Hailing from the St. Gallen Rhine Valley, BLACK DIAMONDS have long established themselves as one of the leading forces in the Swiss Hard Rock scene. Founded in 2004 by vocalist and guitarist Mich Kehl and bassist Andi Barrels, the band has built a reputation far beyond Switzerland’s borders. Tours and shows across Europe with WASP, THE NEW ROSES, H.E.A.T, CRYSTAL BALL and CHEZ KANE, as well as appearances at renowned festivals, are just as much part of the band’s history as their own headline shows. Their second last album “No-Tell Hotel” became a major success, reaching #3 on the official Swiss album charts in 2021. Three years later, “Destination Paradise” repeated the feat, also entering the charts at #3. These two successful albums form the musical heart of “Live In Paradise”. “We grew up with live albums and still love listening to them today,” the band explains. “They have a very special energy. Songs can suddenly sound completely different, and you get the chance to experience a concert even if you weren’t there yourself.” That is exactly what BLACK DIAMONDS wanted to capture with “Live In Paradise”. The album isn’t about simply recreating the studio versions as faithfully as possible. It is about throwing the listener right into the middle of the concert, including all the spontaneity and little unpredictable moments that make a true live experience so special. The past is also making an unexpected comeback. Originally, there were no plans to re-release older songs that had already been immortalized on “Live In Nottingham.” But some of the recordings impressed the band so much that they ultimately earned their place on the 15-track Extended Edition CD after all. For the artwork and booklet, BLACK DIAMONDS were able to use live photographs taken by various photographers, capturing the atmosphere of the concerts that gave birth to the album and adding a visual dimension to the live experience.
Once again, Max Morton is responsible for the sound. For BLACK DIAMONDS, he has long been far more than just a producer and mixer. As their “fifth band member”, he worked his way through countless hours of live material and gave “Live In Paradise” its final live mix. The result brings the full energy of a BLACK DIAMONDS concert straight into your living room and perhaps also serves as a little time capsule for the band itself and everyone who has been part of this journey. What started as a small idea has ultimately become a true BLACK DIAMONDS album. Live, loud, honest and packed with Rock’n’Roll!
