With their new album “Other Worlds,” BÖLLVERK are opening a new chapter. The band from the
Aschaffenburg area embodies a revival of classic German Heavy Metal, combining a raw Rock ’n’ Roll
attitude with the powerful energy of traditional, handcrafted metal music. Since their formation in
2018, BÖLLVERK have consistently developed a distinctive sound. Their demo “Let’s Ride Till Dawn”
and debut album “Heading For The Crown” already garnered positive feedback within the scene, while
the band’s numerous live shows earned them a steadily growing fan base. The EP “Demons Call,”
released in 2025, finally marked the beginning of a new era. Following lineup changes, BÖLLVERK
emerged with a new lineup, stronger and more united than ever. In addition to founding members
Zahn and Raphi, the band now includes vocalist Bexxi, bassist Philipp, and drummer Marcel. The four
songs on the EP made it clear where their musical journey would lead in the future and were received
positively by fans and the music press alike.
In November 2026, the band will release “Other Worlds,” their most personal and, at the same time,
most diverse album to date. Classic Heavy Metal meets grand melodies, striking hooks, powerful riffs,
and an emotional intensity that goes far beyond mere genre nostalgia. The album centers on lyrics
about grief, loss, anger, and fear. Much of the lyrics were written by drummer Marcel, who uses them
to come to terms with his father’s death. At the same time, the album speaks of hope, inner strength,
and the will to keep moving forward even in the darkest moments. This personal level lends the songs
extraordinary authenticity and depth. Musically, too, BÖLLVERK sound more mature than ever.
Powerful guitars, dynamic arrangements, and catchy melodies meet confident songwriting that
effortlessly blends tradition and modernity without losing sight of the band’s own character. The songs
were written over the course of several years. The title track “Other Worlds” was written as early as
2021, while the band was working on “Heading For The Crown.” It hinted early on at the band’s future
direction, but the time wasn’t yet right. The basic idea for “Life Keeps Moving” dates back as far as
2019, while “Ghosts That Aren’t Mine” was written just before studio recording began. It is precisely
these varying stages of creation that give the album its unique dynamic. Ideas that have matured over
the years meet fresh, creative impulses and merge into a cohesive body of work.
“Other Worlds” was once again produced, mixed, and mastered by Matze Schmitt at Unleash The
Sound Studio. Following their successful collaboration on “Demons Call,” the band once again relied
on his experience and his knack for creating a powerful, transparent, and at the same time organic
sound. As with the two previous releases, the artwork was created by Basti Kraus, who has become a
key influence on BÖLLVERK’s visual identity. With “Other Worlds,” BÖLLVERK impressively prove that
classic heavy metal can still sound fresh, emotional, and relevant today. Instead of relying on mere
nostalgia, the band focuses on strong songs, genuine emotions, and a distinct musical style. The result
is an album that respects the past, is rooted in the here and now, and confidently looks toward the
future!
